The overarching objective of our online English course is to facilitate comprehensive language acquisition—covering both written and spoken English—through fully online delivery. Leveraging a combination of written materials, audio resources, and video-based lessons, the program supports learners from beginner to advanced levels in developing their skills via the Internet.

Our implementation strategy adopts an empirical approach, guided by measurable outcomes, real-world performance data, and continuous feedback. The course design follows the ADDIE model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—which provides a structured framework for organizing and refining instructional content to ensure pedagogical effectiveness and learner engagement.

1

Year 1 – Analysis
The first year focused on the design and implementation of the online placement test as well as the analysis of results. This diagnostic tool was developed to assess the English proficiency levels of incoming students, identify their weaknesses, and assign them to classes that match their skill level.
During this phase, the team conducted a thorough needs assessment and identified the prerequisites for participation. The analysis phase clarified the learning challenges and contextual factors, articulated the learning objectives, and defined the competencies to be developed throughout the program.

Year 2 – Design and Development
The second year centered on the design and modeling of the training components of the online English course. This stage involved:

  • Selecting the pedagogical approach and structuring the learning pathway.

  • Defining learning activities and selecting appropriate technologies.

  • Creating multimedia content to support varied learning styles and enhance engagement.

Year 3 – Implementation
The third year was dedicated to full-scale implementation, which included course delivery, learning management, and ongoing learner support. A system for data collection and performance monitoring was established to track participation, progress, and engagement metrics.

Year 4 – Evaluation and Final Reporting
The final year focused on the evaluation of the program’s effectiveness. This phase encompassed the analysis of all collected data, formulation of findings, and development of conclusions, recommendations, and lessons learned. These insights were consolidated into a comprehensive final report to inform future program iterations and best practices.
